Mise Books collects nothing. Not your receipts, not your figures, not your email address, not how you use the app. There is no account to create and no server of mine for anything to be sent to.
What stays on your device
Everything you put into the app — receipt photographs, sales figures, categories, vendors, equipment, contractors and the reports built from them — is stored on your device and in your own iCloud account, under your Apple Account.
iCloud is what lets your iPhone, iPad and Mac show the same books. That arrangement is between you and Apple. I have no access to it, cannot read it, and cannot recover it for you.
How receipts are read
Receipts are read on your device, by the model Apple ships as part of iOS, and by the text recogniser built into every iPhone and iPad. No photograph, and no part of one, is sent anywhere for reading.
An earlier version of this app could send receipts to a third-party AI service if you supplied your own key. That has been removed entirely — the code, the setting and the permission it asked for. Nothing in the app can send a receipt off your device.
What is not in the app
- No analytics, and no measurement of how the app is used
- No advertising, and no advertising identifier
- No crash or diagnostic reporting to me
- No third-party software development kits of any kind
- No tracking across apps or websites
Apple may give me anonymous, aggregated figures about downloads and crashes if you have agreed to share them with Apple. Those come from Apple, never from the app, and cannot identify you.
Payments
The subscription is sold by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles the payment and tells the app one thing: whether a subscription is active. I never see your name, your card, your address or your Apple Account.
Sharing books with someone else
You can invite another person to a set of books. That invitation uses Apple's own iCloud sharing, between your Apple Account and theirs. The records travel through iCloud, not through me, and the sharing stops when you stop it.
Children
This is a bookkeeping app for businesses. It is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone, of any age.
Your rights
Rules such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to see, correct, export and delete the personal information a company holds about you. I hold none, so there is nothing for me to show, correct, export or delete.
Your own data is yours to take at any time: the app exports to Excel and CSV, and can send a whole year's receipt photographs as a single file. Deleting the app, and its data in iCloud settings, removes it.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a future version of the app ever collected anything, that would be said here plainly and asked for in the app before it happened.
