Lectern

These terms are the agreement between you and CRIBINC for the Lectern iPad app. By using the app you accept them. Privacy is covered separately in the Privacy Policy.
What Lectern is
Lectern is a church desk for iPad: public-domain Scripture (King James Version and World English Bible) to read offline, and a paid desk — notes, a Sunday sermon template, journal, prayer list, commentary, PDF export, and KJV beside WEB — sold as Lectern Pro. It is a study aid. It is not a pastor, not a licensed commentary library, and not a substitute for your own reading of Scripture.
The Bible is free
Reading KJV and WEB, searching, the Bible-in-a-Year checkoff, church mode, and type size do not require a purchase.
Lectern Pro
Lectern Pro is sold through Apple’s App Store as:
- Lifetime — a one-time non-consumable unlock, currently US$49.99, or
- Yearly — an auto-renewing subscription, currently US$24.99 per year, with a seven-day free trial.
The price Apple shows you in the purchase sheet is the price that applies. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The yearly plan renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You manage or cancel the yearly plan in your Apple ID account settings (Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions). Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you purchase Lectern Pro during the trial.
If the yearly plan lapses, your notes, journal, and prayers remain on the device; Lectern Pro features lock until you restore or buy again. We do not delete your local study because a subscription ended.
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not CRIBINC.
Your content
You own what you write. Notes, journal pages, and prayer requests stay on your iPad. We never receive them and claim no licence in them.
Acceptable use
Use Lectern for study, teaching, and personal work. Do not use it to break the law or to infringe anyone’s rights.
No warranty
To the fullest extent the law allows, Lectern is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, including that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Bundled study notes are public-domain-style aids, not a modern licensed commentary edition.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, CRIBINC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data. Total liability for claims relating to Lectern is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Lectern Pro in the twelve months before the claim, or US$100. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. If the law where you live gives you the right to bring proceedings locally, this does not take it away.
